We fully understand the effect our business has on the environment and our duty to help others understand their responsibilities too.
We're not perfect but we're working hard towards reducing our impact on the environment and anticipate our improvement will continue for as long as new more environmentally sensitive ways of working evolve.
Energy Use & Recycling
Our office is well insulated, we use heating with controls. Temperature is regularly monitored as is our oil and electricity use.
Office equipment with lower energy use is used and all equipment is used.
We use email for documentation and keep printed document use at a minimum.
We sort paper, plastic and printer cartridges and where we can't re-use, we recycle.
Travel
What we do now
We have to meet with clients to make sure we're meeting their needs. When we're doing this we try to tie in as many other meetings in the same area on the same day to minimise the carbon impact of the meetings.
Where it's feasible to get to a meeting by public transport we have committed to travelling to a meeting in this way rather than a single person car journey.
Where a car is used, smarter driving techniques are used to ensure the best possible use of fuel.
Vehicles used have lower than 150g/km emissions.
What we aim to do in the future
Investigate the option to video conference rather than physically meet clients for regular updates.
Procurement
What we do now
Printer cartridges are re-filled and recycled.
Stationery is sourced form ISO 14001 printers in Cumbria
Office supplies are bought from sustainable sources and delivered to the door as part of a regular delivery route
What we aim to do in the future
Achieve environmental accreditation with Cben
Encourage our suppliers and associates to buy from sustainable sources and achieve environmental accreditation
